wikipedia:Organ stops are the final elements in the chain of elements that relay key presses/releases. When this special switch is engaged, it engages the referenced ranks an plays/mutes notes on them.

Unified Stops

Multiple stopss can reference the same rank. Such a setup is known under the term wikipedia:unification and is commonly used in wikipedia:theatre organs.
